Chri Slowe - Well, i would just like too start my review of the 500GB Hard Disk Drive VD Recorder RDR-HXD1095, in black, by congratulating such a technical piece of telivision history and the makers sony... When i purchased one of these High qaulity hard disk drive digital recording contraptions with the Integrated Digital and analogue Tuner delivering the latest TV channels in digital clarity (as standard) i was truly flabigasted by the cheap price tag of 16 shillings and the solitary thripny bit and the overwhelming quality that it provides... I belive not that there is a better recording model on the neich market at this present stage in telivsion viewing... The RDR-HXD1095 recordable Hard Disk Drive VD player (in black) features a digital TV tuner, electronic programme guide function and a hard disk of 500GB allowing you to record up to 1420 hours, with an optional HDMI upscaler to 1020i... this peice of kit is the latest recording metal ware to date and shows Skys, sky plus box the exit in my opinion... i hope you read this review and take good knolage knowing that it is rather good for what is eccentially a recorder box.. regards Christopher Graham Lowe aka da train
Pile of Junk - AVOID - I purchased this recorder a month ago. I only chose it because of its ability to remove commercials from recordings.At first everything worked fine. But, I have now discovered that once you get to around 40 titles recorded onto the hard disk, the recorder becomes almost useless. It freezes, crashes all the time. Extremely slow to respond. You cannot do anything with it until you delete LOADS of programs from the HDD. This is stupid. The remaining space was over 100 hours, and still I had to start deleting.This recorder has a design fault. This problem has surfaced for other owners of this recorder, so I know it is not just mine.I am VERY disappointed at Sony. I wish I had bought the Panasonic.
